Whether, When and How to EU JSC

Lessons from our experience with the Joint Scientific Consultation

Joint Scientific Consultation (JSC) offers a critical opportunity for manufacturers to receive early feedback on their EU Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) strategy, but with only a limited number of products selected each year, many companies are uncertain about what the process truly involves and how best to prepare.

In this webinar, we explored practical insights into the realities of preparing for and conducting a JSC, based on our first-hand experience. In conversation with Patrick Hopkinson, we discussed alternative routes of advice for manufacturers who are not selected for, or are not seeking, a JSC.

Designed for professionals navigating the EU JCA landscape, this session addressed whether, when and how to pursue a JSC, and what strategic alternatives may be available.

Watch our EU JSC webinar to find out:

  • What EU JSC involves for the manufacturer
  • The value of the insights gained from EU JSC and the potential risks associated with the process
  • Whether to seek regulatory advice from the EMA in parallel or separately, and the role of national-level scientific advice alongside EU JSC
  • The potential value of alternative routes to achieve the same advice, such as through seeking ‘mock’ advice

Date of recording: 12th June 2026
