A Day in the Life of a Senior Analyst (US)

Veda Donthireddy is a Senior Analyst in our Boston office, who joined the company in August 2023 as an Analyst.

What did you before joining Costello Medical?

Before joining Costello Medical, I graduated with honours in Neuroscience and a minor in Italian Studies from Wellesley College. Alongside my studies, I worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at both MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences and MIT Health Sciences and Technology, as well as a Research & Development Quality Assurance Intern at Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

After I graduated, I gained further valuable research experience as a Postgraduate Research Associate at the Yale University School of Medicine, working in the Social and Affective Neuroscience of Autism Lab.

Eager to transition to healthcare consulting, I learned of Costello Medical through a college classmate/teammate! When I joined the company in August 2023, I joined the Market Access and Health Economics team where I work on projects to ensure new pharmaceuticals and healthcare products are reimbursed and accessible to patients. I was excited to be promoted to Senior Analyst in January 2025!

What do you like best about your role at Costello Medical?

I enjoy being at the forefront of Market Access and Health Economics, where I can apply my background in scientific research to the ever-evolving healthcare industry. Working as a Senior Analyst allows me to delve into various therapeutic areas and collaborate with a talented team to make meaningful contributions to healthcare solutions. The opportunity to engage with diverse projects and continually develop my skills is incredibly rewarding.

How would you describe a typical day in the life as a Senior Analyst?

9:00am

I start my day by reviewing emails and project updates. Prioritising tasks based on project timelines and client needs is crucial, so I draft a to-do list to stay organised. I also lead internal project meetings, keeping track of project progress and ensuring my team is prepared for their tasks.

10:00am

Much of my morning involves working on evidence-based materials, such as dossiers and slide decks. These projects help highlight the clinical and economic value of new and existing pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.

12:00pm

Lunch is a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues, discuss project strategies, and share insights. The collaborative environment fosters idea exchange, which is essential in a fast-growing company like Costello Medical.

1:00pm

In the afternoon, I often lead meetings with clients. Today, we’re discussing strategies for enhancing client deliverables and exploring opportunities to expand our services within existing projects.

3:00pm

I focus on reviewing work from junior colleagues, providing feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables. This role also involves training and supervising the team, ensuring projects meet our high standards and timelines.

5:00pm

Before wrapping up, I engage in business development activities, such as writing proposals for potential projects and building client relationships. This is crucial for identifying new opportunities and supporting the growth of our Boston office.

6:00pm

Before logging off, I check-in with my project teams on project progress and send update emails to my colleagues and clients as needed.
