Health Equity & Access

Founded in 2008, Costello Medical provides scientific support to the healthcare industry in the analysis, interpretation and communication of clinical and health economic data. The majority of our clients are pharmaceutical and MedTech companies, but we recognise that commercial channels are not the only route to improving health. We therefore devote ourselves to non-profit projects in which our knowledge can be applied to effect real benefits to public and global health. In 2021, this commitment to supporting non-profit projects led to the development of a dedicated pro bono division at Costello Medical. Please take a look at our portfolio of pro bono projects completed to date.

We are offering our services, free of charge, to support non-profit organisations with projects in the health equity and access space. Projects should be ready to start by the beginning of 2024 and be feasible to complete within six months. To apply for support with a project, please complete and submit the form below by Monday 4th December (23:59 BST). Projects will then be short-listed and we may contact you for further information and/or to arrange an informal discussion. Up to three short-listed organisations will be selected to partner with the Costello Medical team on their proposed project.

Examples of Previous Projects

Development of a brochure outlining a joint breast cancer support scheme between Maggie’s Newcastle and Northern Centre for Cancer Care

Economic analyses for local sensory loss charities, Cambridgeshire Hearing Help and Cambridgeshire Deaf Association, to help them understand the economic impact of their services in the community

Development of factsheets on a rare disease to support patients with these conditions and raise awareness about the disease among policymakers

Guide to this Form

For our pro bono and non-profit work, we like to have a good understanding of the organisations that we work with, including how the organisation contributes to the improvement of health equity and access. This helps us to identify how our support can have the maximum possible impact.

In our experience, projects have the most value when clients have a clear vision of what they need and how it will be used. Please note that your ideas do not have to be fully developed at this stage. If we would like to work with you, we will be in touch to discuss further ideas and to refine potential project plans.

Once you have submitted this form, we will aim to provide an initial response to your application within four weeks of receipt.

Please contact megan.allfrey@costellomedical.com should you have any questions.
