2018
I joined Costello Medical as a Medical Writer in April. In this role, I gained the opportunity to work across a variety of projects, including manuscripts, abstracts and research posters on both pharmaceutical treatments and medical devices. I was also able to attend international congresses including one for medical publication professionals, where I first heard about the importance of patient engagement in medical research.
2019
I was promoted to Senior Medical Writer in April, which saw me increase my day-to-day project management, including planning, client communication and managing deliverables for our clients. I also started working with several others across the company to explore how Costello Medical can help engage patients in the projects we work on.
2020
I was successfully promoted once more to Publications Manager in October. I started to lead on exciting new client accounts and take an increasingly strategic focus. I also began to line manage other members of the Publications team.
2021
I was then given the opportunity to apply for, and take on, the role of Patient Centricity and Engagement Lead in October, meaning much of my work now focuses on the role of patients in medical research and increasing the number of our projects that are written for patients or involve patients in the writing process. This is something I am extremely passionate about and have been interested in since I first heard about patient engagement as a Medical Writer.
2023
Promoted to Senior Publication Manager & Patient Centricity and Engagement Lead. I am now leading a large team within our Publications division, which is one of the biggest divisions in the company.
This was also the year that we launched our first ever patient engagement strategy, which aims to embed a patient centric approach across all our divisions and champion meaningful partnerships with patients across the healthcare sector.
2024
With the new strategy now launched, I began the year by looking for a Patient Engagement Intern who could dedicate some time to our internal projects and further our work here. I am really looking forward to seeing where our efforts will be at the end of the year!
