Head of People


Joined Costello Medical as HR Administrator as part of an apprenticeship programme which supported my completion of the CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resources.

I enjoyed the increased level of responsibility I was given early on, such as running the HR induction session for new starters and taking part in interviews for the Scientific Internship programme.


Promoted to Senior HR Coordinator, which involved managing certain HR processes, line managing members of the team and also supporting the day-to-day running of the Operations division, which was a horizontal progression opportunity I took on.

I also began studying for my CIPD Level 7 Certificate in Human Resources and became a trained Mental Health First Aider, which was supported by the company.

I was thrilled to support the Pro Bono team, supporting Costello Medical’s efforts to give back to the community and support various charities. I continue play a key role in our Global Health Internship programme, which aims to improve healthcare in low- to middle-income countries.


Promoted to HR Manager, a role in which I managed the HR and recruitment function across our global offices. I was particularly proud to lead the launch of our first performance management software and to develop the Company Handbook for our future office in China.


In January, I was promoted to the role of Deputy Head of People.

This was also the year that we formalised our internal training efforts with the formation of a new Onboarding & Training team. I took on temporary responsibility for this function and was tasked with hiring new colleagues to join the team, as well as sourcing and implementing our first ever learning management system. This new platform marked the start of a new era for learning at the company, enabling colleagues to take control of their own learning and watch trainings on-demand.


Promoted to Head of People in September, which means I now have ultimate responsibility for leading our global people function.

During 2023, I supported on a project to overhaul our UK’s profit share bonus scheme, led the administration of our global employee survey and subsequent communication of results, and organised and hosted our People Team Strategy Day in July. I always love the opportunity to bring our whole team together and develop some exciting plans for the future!


Looking ahead to the remainder of 2024, I look forward to overhauling our global Company Handbooks of people policies, formalising and promoting secondment opportunities available for colleagues, as well as refreshing our training programme for line managers alongside our Onboarding & Training team.

As the company continues to expand, it is natural that the variety and scale of our HR projects expands too. Despite having spent over 8 years at the company, I am learning new things every day!
