Eleanor Thurtle

Senior Consultant

Graduated from Oxford University with a Master’s degree in Chemistry.

2016

Joined Costello Medical as a Medical Writer in September. I worked on different client accounts focusing on auto-immune disorders and rheumatic diseases.

I was involved in developing abstracts and multiple posters for presentation at a large US congress and worked on a pro-bono project with Beacon developing cost of illness model manuscripts.

2017

Promoted to the role of Senior Medical Writer, which saw me provide mentorship and training for new Medical Writers. I really enjoyed passing on my knowledge to help them succeed.

2018

I was thrilled to join the newly founded Rare Diseases division and focus on delivering highly impactful projects using my prior publications experience.

2019

My responsibilities increased and I was given the chance to manage two client accounts independently, as well as taking on my first health policy project, which opened my eyes to wider issues in the healthcare sector.

2020

Promoted to the role of Publication Manager, which saw me focus on developing publications in the rare diseases sector.

2021

I transitioned to the Consultant role in January 2021, in a move that saw me broadening my project focus beyond publications to take on a more multidisciplinary role.

2023

Promoted to the role of Senior Consultant. At the same time as my responsibilities increasing, I began to focus more heavily on client engagement and our business development efforts alongside our Strategic Operations team. I turned my focus on furthering my expertise in health technology assessments in the rare diseases space, allowing me to help individuals with rare diseases gain access to impactful treatments, which I find incredibly rewarding! I also had the opportunity to attend the World Orphan Drug Congress in October which was a perfect opportunity to speak to clients, and prospective clients, face to face and network with other professionals in this space.
