2017
I joined Costello Medical as a Medical Writer in our Singapore office. In this role, I was able to utilise both my English and Chinese language skills to develop numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and congress publications in both languages. I also worked on projects such as English reports for advisory boards conducted in Chinese, and Chinese digests introducing English journal articles.
2019
I was promoted to Senior Medical Writer in February. In this role, my increased responsibilities include working closely with clients and authors from the Asia-Pacific region to help promote good publication practices as well as mentoring other members of my team.
Outside my project work, I support with our Singapore recruitment efforts and I am also a volunteer member of the Asia-Pacific Education Task Force of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals.
2021
Whilst I am still based in our Singapore office, I altered my focus slightly and I now work solely within our multidisciplinary China Team. As this team started to diversify our clientele, I had the opportunity to work with an array of new clients and build up partnership through quality work and good customer service. Throughout this process, I gained knowledge and experience which allowed me to navigate a wider range of new therapeutic areas, such as different conditions in oncology and metabolic diseases. I also had the opportunity to work on our first consensus-writing project, a project type which we have now worked on several times in recent years, allowing me to draw on and build on this experience!
2023
As the China Team continues to expand, I have had the opportunity to draw on everything I have learnt in my career and use this when training and mentoring junior colleagues, which I am increasingly involved in now. Whilst I have been consistently providing project guidance through reviewing colleagues’ works over the years, I now look forward to developing more structured training resources for the team.
