About the Role

We are offering students at multiple universities the opportunity to apply their scientific skills to a commercial role at the cutting edge of the pharmaceutical industry. Placements typically last between 9 to 12 months in duration and run in our Cambridge office.

We are offering the opportunity to students who attend the following universities:

  • Durham University
  • University of York

During your placement you will be presented with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of projects involving the assimilation, interpretation and creative presentation of data from clinical trials. This could involve supporting the development of clinical trial manuscripts, preparing medical education slides, performing systematic searches of medical literature or assimilating clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence to support submissions to NICE. You will typically be working on two to three projects in different disease areas at any one time and should enjoy the prospect of learning about new disease areas and treatments.

You will be working collaboratively in project teams alongside experienced colleagues and will receive one-to-one training on the technical skills required for delivering these projects successfully. You will also learn about project management and effective communication with clients.

You will be given the opportunity to experience work across multiple divisions of Costello Medical, dealing with a variety of different project types. However, if you have a strong interest in any of our service offerings please indicate this in your application and we will try to accommodate this.

The start date for the placement would be 6th July 2020 or 21st September 2020.

About You

You will be a current student at one of the above universities in the life sciences field and will be on track to achieve a 2.1 or above in your undergraduate studies.

Other essential requirements for the role include:
