Simon graduated with a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester in June 2012, where his research focused on understanding the molecular organisation of connective tissue. Following the completion of his PhD, he undertook a period of postdoctoral research at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA, where he investigated the roles of impaired connective tissue organisation in arthritis. Following this, he returned to the UK to take up a 1 year teaching fellowship at Keele Medical School, teaching a number of the bioscience components on the undergraduate medical degree programme.
Simon joined the team at Costello Medical as a Medical Writer in October 2015. In his current role as Principal Medical Writer, he is responsible for delivering a wide range of publications projects including peer-reviewed manuscripts, meeting reports, congress abstracts, posters and oral presentations. Simon is a member of the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) and is currently participating in the EMWA Professional Development Programme (EPDP), recently gaining an EPDP Foundation Certificate in Medical Writing.
