Schezn joined the Asia-Pacific Analyst Team in 2014, having undergone both clinical and scientific training in a wide range of disease areas.
After graduating from the National University of Singapore with a second upper class honours degree in Pharmacy in 2012, Schezn practised as an inpatient pharmacist in an acute care surgical ward at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She then went on to pursue an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at University College London, where her clinical knowledge was supplemented with a deeper appreciation for the way advancements in scientific knowledge shape the development of novel therapeutics.
As part of her graduate course, Schezn conducted a systematic review of clinical trial data on anti-epileptics for seizure prophylaxis, obtaining a merit for her paper that discussed the failure of new anti-epileptic drugs in overcoming pharmacoresistance. She earned a distinction for her research thesis, which investigated the long-term efficacy and adverse effects of greater occipital nerve block and flunarizine for refractory migraine, through which her systematic review, critical appraisal and medical communication skills were further honed.
Schezn is very excited about the rise in importance of medical affairs in the Asia-Pacific region. She looks forward to using her clinical and scientific training in diseases and therapeutics to support the evidence-based pharmaceutical services offered by Costello Medical Singapore to raise standards of safe and effective healthcare delivery in the region.
