Since joining Costello Medical in September 2016, Katie has worked on a number of different project types with the HTA Division, including NICE and SMC submissions, as well as health economic manuscripts and briefing books. She has experience in a wide range of disease areas, including oncology, rheumatology and neurology. Katie has particularly enjoyed working on a variety of project types, as well as being involved in several internal initiatives. She is also excited about the opportunity to further her knowledge of health economics via distance learning at the University of York. Prior to joining Costello Medical, Katie completed a manufacturing excellence graduate scheme at a large FMCG company, focusing on problem solving and operations within a manufacturing environment, which included managing a large team and leading SixSigma projects.
Katie has an upper second class honours degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Liverpool. In her final year research project, she investigated whether different strains of Staphylococcus aureus were resistant to D-sphingosine found in the skin. She first became interested in healthcare and science through work experience placements at different NHS hospitals.
