Eleanor graduated in 2016 with a First Class Masters degree in Chemistry from Oxford University. As an undergraduate, she completed a summer internship working in a specialist oligonucleotide synthesis company. Through this experience, Eleanor developed a keen interest in biological sciences which led to a final year research project in Biochemistry. For her thesis, she investigated the effects of 2-oxoglutarate dependent oxygenases on the efficacy of antibiotics, and consequently discovered an interest in scientific writing.
Motivated by her desire to support future pharmaceutical innovation, Eleanor joined Costello Medical as a Medical Writer in September 2016. Since joining the company, Eleanor has particularly enjoyed working on orphan and ultra-orphan indication projects and, subsequently, transferred to the Rare Diseases Division in 2018. Whilst working in this division, she enjoys applying her publications expertise to the inherent challenges faced by rare disease literature to enable further engagement from patients, industry and the wider scientific community.
