During her time at Costello Medical, Nia has experienced and managed a wide variety of projects across the diverse service offerings of the company, but in recent years has chosen to specialise in the delivery of medical affairs projects. Given her passion for supporting clients in the effective communication about the ‘science behind the product’, Nia formalised a dedicated Medical Affairs Division in 2014 to better draw-upon and promote the wealth of experience and knowledge held by the team in this field.
Nia is delighted to be part of such a motivated and professional team at Costello Medical, which has grown from strength to strength due to the company’s emphasis on recruiting high calibre individuals who are able to deliver successful projects with exceptional customer service. Looking ahead, Nia is excited to lead the Medical Affairs Division in creating new growth opportunities for the company in this area.
Nia graduated from the University of Oxford in 2009 with a first class honours BA in Biological Sciences, and since joining Costello Medical in 2010, achieved a distinction and best examination performance in the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics at the University of York.

As a Consultant within the Medical Affairs division, Laura is involved in the planning, management and final delivery of a broad range of projects across several disease areas. Recently, her project work has included advisory boards, value dossiers, congress support and medical education events. Laura enjoys both the variety of the projects undertaken by Costello Medical and the diversity of her responsibilities. For instance, alongside her project management responsibilities, Laura is involved in company training, ensuring that Costello Medical’s reputation for high quality standards is maintained. In pursuing other opportunities within the company, Laura has also conducted original research on the implementation of NICE guidance in clinical practice, which she presented at ISPOR’s 18th Annual International Meeting held in New Orleans in 2013.
Laura was awarded a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Cambridge in 2012, where her research focused on the molecular mechanisms underpinning the infection and transmission profiles of the hospital pathogen Clostridium difficile. Prior to this, Laura received a first class honours degree from the University of Nottingham, specialising in infectious diseases.
Laura is looking forward to making a creative contribution as a Consultant within the growing and talented Medical Affairs Team at Costello Medical.

Since joining Costello Medical, Zoe has worked on a variety of projects in disease areas such as immunology, cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, and she specialises in the delivery of medical affairs services. Zoe has participated in expert panels and advisory boards and thoroughly enjoyed her responsibilities delivering medical materials for a large immunology conference. She is very excited to be a part of the Medical Affairs Division and is looking forward to seeing the division grow its client base and service offerings. Next to her client responsibilities, Zoe is involved in driving forward Costello Medical’s participation in the STEM Ambassadors programme, something she is passionate about. She was delighted to receive a ‘Best New Investigator’ award at the 2014 ISPOR Amsterdam Conference.
Zoe graduated with a first class degree in Biology from Imperial College London in 2012. Zoe then continued her studies at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she studied for a Masters degree in Medical Parasitology. Whilst at Costello Medical, Zoe has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Economics for Health Care Professionals from the University of York.

Within the Medical Affairs Division, Katie specialises in the development of training materials and the provision of advisory board and congress support. She has a broad range of experience in the therapy areas of immunology, neurology, mental health and infectious diseases. As a Consultant, Katie oversees a number of projects and enjoys working closely with her clients and colleagues to provide a comprehensive, high quality service to fully achieve the strategic objectives of the client. Katie is very interested in the various ways that industry and patients can work together to improve outcomes and is leading an internal initiative to explore how Costello Medical can expand its service offerings into this area.
Aside from her medical affairs work, Katie has been involved in various pro bono projects and leads the internal quality control initiative. Additionally, she enjoys learning about health economics: Katie has presented several pieces of original research at international conferences and has completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Economics for Health Care Professionals at the University of York.
Before joining Costello Medical, Katie graduated from the University of Cambridge in June 2013 with an upper second class BA in Biological Natural Sciences. Katie values the emphasis on both exceptional customer service and employee welfare at Costello Medical and is very happy to work in such an exciting culture of innovation and diversification.

As a Project Consultant in the Medical Affairs Division, Rebecca has worked on a broad range of projects, including medical education materials and events, global advisory boards, value dossiers and HTA submissions. Outside of her client responsibilities, Rebecca is involved in driving forward the Global Health Internship scheme and has completed the ‘Health Economics for Health Care Professionals’ Postgraduate Certificate at the University of York.
Prior to joining Costello Medical in January 2013, Rebecca graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2010 with upper second class BA and MSci degrees in Natural Sciences, specialising in Biochemistry. After graduating, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge, where she investigated the mechanisms leading to neurodegenerative diseases.
Rebecca looks forward to applying her knowledge and experience to a variety of projects across different disease areas as the Medical Affairs Division continues to grow, and to working with the professional and supportive team at Costello Medical.

Since joining Costello Medical in the middle of 2015, Matt has gained experience in a number of disease areas, including rheumatology and haemophilia. He has worked on a variety of medical affairs and market access projects, such as medical education materials and events, and has provided scientific support for satellite symposia.
Matt graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2011 with a first class BA in Natural Sciences, specialising in Biochemistry. During this time, he conducted research on sleeping sickness as a summer research fellow at the Rockefeller University, as well as investigating the role of collagen in blood clotting as part of his final year dissertation. In 2015, Matt completed his PhD at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, where his research focus was the molecular mechanism of bacterial cell division.
Matt particularly enjoys the scientific variety and client-oriented aspects of his role, and is excited to have the opportunity to continue to apply and develop his skills through undertaking a broad range of projects as part of the Costello Medical team.

Charlie graduated in 2012 with an upper second class degree in Biochemistry from Cardiff University. As part of her degree, she spent a year at GlaxoSmithKline in the Centre of Excellence for Drug Discovery. Motivated by her desire to see improvements in healthcare, Charlie went on to complete a PhD at the University of Oxford, identifying novel targets to improve the cellular response to taxane-based chemotherapy in ovarian cancer. She has a keen interest in public health and is excited to use the knowledge and analytical skills acquired from her time in scientific research to support future innovations in healthcare.
Charlie joined Costello Medical in September 2016 as an Analyst in the Medical Affairs Division. She is delighted to be part of such an innovative and passionate company, and looks forward to working collaboratively on a wide variety of projects.

Chibuzor joined Costello Medical in September 2016 after working as a postdoctoral research fellow in nanotherapeutics at Oklahoma State University, USA. Prior to this, Chibuzor completed his PhD at the University of Birmingham, UK, during which he developed a novel 3D hepatocyte culture model for the prediction of drug metabolism in fish; he also holds an MSc in Toxicology and a BSc in Biological Sciences.
Throughout his academic career, Chibuzor has had a keen interest in communicating science to a wide range of audiences and his experience in this area ranges from working as a Science, Technology and Engineering Ambassador on public engagement and educational outreach programmes, to presenting his research at a number of national and international conferences. During his PhD, Chibuzor won a science policy scholarship to work as a researcher at the National Assembly for Wales; a role in which he produced briefings and guidance to politicians on health related matters.
Chibuzor is looking forward to applying his knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and passion for science communication to the wide range of projects in Costello Medical’s portfolio.

Sophie graduated from Durham University in 2015 with a first class degree in Biological Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, she was fortunate enough to obtain funding for a two month internship at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, with her project focusing on biophysical characterisation of parasite proteins.
Subsequently, Sophie completed a Masters in Integrated Immunology at the University of Oxford. Her final research project at The Jenner Institute involved developing and testing cellular immunogenicity of viral vectored vaccines for emerging pathogens. During her time at Oxford, Sophie also developed an interest in public health and became involved with the student-led global health think tank, Polygeia, for which she edited a policy paper on the cost-effectiveness of the breast cancer screening programme.
Sophie was delighted to join Costello Medical in September 2016 as a Cross-Divisional Analyst, and is looking forward to applying her skills initially to the Medical Affairs Division.
Senior Events Coordinator

As Senior Events Coordinator, Laura plays a key role in coordinating the administrative support provided by the Operations Division to the rest of the company. She is responsible for ensuring the efficient completion and high quality of work carried out by the Operations Division, including the provision of guidance and appropriate training to Office Administrators. Laura’s role is broad, encompassing office administration, client project and secretarial support, facilities, recruitment, and other activities that contribute to the company’s smooth and successful operation.
Laura is excited to be undertaking an Event Management Diploma, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), at King’s College London in 2015. This will support her ambition of focusing on logistics and event management and expanding the service offerings of Costello Medical in this area.
Before joining Costello Medical in September 2013, Laura worked as a Team Leader for the leading global provider of medical equipment in the infection control industry, Getinge. She is delighted to be part of a successful and vibrant organisation that is committed to high quality, and is very much looking forward to being part of Costello Medical’s bright future.

Sarah graduated from the University of Sheffield in June 2014 with an upper second class Masters degree in Biology. In her final year, she investigated the effect of population size changes on levels of X-linked and autosomal diversity in D. melanogaster using a computer model. With an interest in healthcare and the desire to use her scientific background in a more commercial setting, Sarah was delighted to join the company in January 2016 as a Project Coordinator within the Costello Medical Affairs Division.
Excited by the variety of work and opportunities at Costello Medical, Sarah looks forward to using her strong organisational and customer service skills to support the delivery of high quality projects, and looks forward to playing a key role in further developing the Medical Affairs Division as it continues to grow.

Belina graduated from the University of York in 2014 with a degree in Chemistry and completed her Masters by research in Bio-organic Chemistry in 2015. Her research focused on synthesising and investigating peptide-antibiotic conjugates as novel developments for increased microbial transport and efficiency.
After graduating, Belina worked at Novartis as a Franchise Assistant providing support on a variety of medical affairs and marketing projects. Her interest in science and clinical studies motivated her to join the clinical trials team where she was involved in the general set-up of immunology and dermatology studies.
Belina joined Costello Medical in April 2017 as a Project Coordinator. Having worked across different teams within the pharmaceutical industry, she is looking forward to applying her experience and knowledge to support both the Medical Affairs and Evidence Development Divisions on a wide range of projects.
