Aimée graduated in 2012 from Durham University with a Masters degree in Physics. For her Masters project and as an astrophysics PhD student at the University of Cambridge, her research focused on image analysis and building a data reduction pipeline to detect small changes in starlight that hint at the presence of planets outside of our solar system. She presented her research at national and international conferences and also enjoyed coordinating the department’s graduate outreach programme for communicating with the public.
Aimée decided to leave academia and transition to a healthcare career as she wanted to make a wider contribution to society and use her scientific experience to improve people’s lives. She completed a Scientific Internship at Costello Medical at the end of 2016 and experienced regular cross-divisional work across many areas of the company. She is very excited to apply her analytical skills and statistical knowledge to a wide variety of projects, including publication development, biostatistics research and pro bono projects.
